Tania was an amazing host. She let us decorate, have music within a limit. Which worked for the party. The ambience is absolutely gorgeous. She allowed the vendors to come in. Very accommodating and helped get her pool, jacuzzi and floats ready for us. Book with her! Thank you Tania for being so gracious!

About Newport Beach

Somewhat of a small town on the Southern coast of California, Newport Beach’s small size hides a number of attractions to visit and other things to see and do if you have the time. With a warm and humid climate that averages around 80% humidity and temperatures from the 60’s to the 80’s you’ll find that it can be comfortable at times and unbearable at others.

Featuring boat-filled piers, an old-style amusement park and plenty of beaches, there’s plenty to do for everyone. If you’re looking to plan an event in Newport Beach, you’re likely to find something that strikes your fancy in this somewhat small California town.

Event Options in Newport Beach

Putting together an event isn’t just about booking the right event space, there are tons of other things to think about and put together to make the event as successful as possible. We’ll help by outlining some of the different considerations you might have to make when planning your event.

  • Photographer
You’ll likely want memories of the event. Rather than have crazy uncle Dave take whatever random pictures he feels like, it’s a good idea to hire a professional photographer. This way you get high-quality photos of the event and the ability to get duplicates or have special photos taken if you choose. There are likely to be many memories that are best preserved by having a professional capture the moment.

  • Catering
No matter the type of event, people want food. You can’t have your event guests going hungry so you’ll want to make sure that they are well taken care of. Depending on the type of event space you book, they may offer in-house catering. If not, off-site catering might be an option. If this too is not an option, then it is a good idea to plan meals so that guests can leave the venue and go to nearby restaurants and eateries to get fed.

  • Entertainment
Having somewhere for your guests to go after the event is also a good idea, particularly if they are from out of town. Events are sometimes not the last thing that people do for the day so having other entertainment options nearby will keep guests happy, especially if your event is being held over multiple days.

  • Lodging
Having a good place to sleep for event guests is another important accommodation. Folks traveling from out of town to an event will appreciate the fact that there are hotels nearby the event space, so be sure to check into the surrounding area before you book.

Pros and Cons of Event Spaces in Newport Beach

Newport Beach has plenty going for it, being a small coastal city in southern California, but with the benefits of that come some downsides as well.

Advantages

  • Consistently mild climate
It never gets too hot or too cold, meaning that Newport Beach is a great place to hold events year-round. You won’t have to worry about extreme temperatures ruining your plans.

  • Lots of sights
Thanks to the harbor, there’s plenty to see. Whether you like watching the ocean for whales, watching the ships dock, or just gazing at the sea, there’s something for everyone to do.

  • Close to Los Angeles
Being a small southern California town makes it removed from the big city, but still close enough for jobs and other amenities.

  • Beach town
If you’re looking for a place that has many venues that have a vacation-like feel or have ever felt like holding an event on a beach, then Newport Beach is the place.

  • Clean and fresh air
Unlike other parts of California, namely Los Angeles, the air in Newport Beach is clear and refreshing, meaning no choking when you walk outside and take a deep breath.

Disadvantages

  • Property values and rentals are very high
If you’re looking to rent a venue or even a place to live you expect to pay a lot. Even for California, Newport Beach has a very high cost of living.

  • Humid, very humid
While the climate is pleasant, for ¾ of the year it is incredibly humid. This can make outdoor gatherings and events difficult, especially if you don’t like soggy clothes.

  • Beaches get crowded
If you’re looking for a truly peaceful beach spot, you’ll only likely find one in the winter. For the other seasons, all the beaches are crowded.

  • Traffic is a nightmare
Whether you’re talking about beach traffic or just California rush hour, getting anywhere in a vehicle is nearly impossible.

  • Summer is crowded
If you’re planning an event during the summer, then you may find that more than just the beaches are crowded. This may make even finding an event venue difficult.

Famous Locations in Newport Beach

  • Sherman Library and Gardens
If, while you’re out trying to find your next event space, you decide you want to experience a bit of nature in Newport Beach, then the Sherman Library and Gardens is the place to go. With book readings for kids, guided family tours and all kinds of events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. When you’re done there, why not book one of the amazing nearby venues for your event, like a Spanish-style church?

  • Newport Harbor
If you’ve ever wanted to see ships come in and enjoy stunning views of the ocean, then Newport Harbor is where you want to be. As a semi-artificial harbor that was built specifically to allow ships to dock at Newport Beach in the early 1900s, the views and the history of the harbor are magnificent.

  • Corona Del Mar State Beach
If you’re looking to experience what Newport Beach is known for, beaches, then look no further than Corona Del Mar State Beach. As a fully recognized state park, the beach is preserved and has regular hours of operation that people can take advantage of for surfing, swimming, running, or any other type of beach activity.
